Lonbois takes it all !

Vincent Lonbois wins all races at which he participates !

Superbike

Full throttle for Lonbois

Fantastic ! Even though there was only one winner for both rounds of the Belgian Superbike, the races were breathtaking and kept the audience in suspense from beginning till end.

In the first round, Sébastien Le Grelle, Vincent Lonbois and Alex Verleye were chasing each other. First Le Grelle was leading, then Lonbois took over. Sébastien wanted to get the lead again but crashed, he did however succeed to get up and join the race again. Lonbois wasn’t at all sure of his victory at that moment, because Verleye was giving it his best shot. Even in the last round, both riders passed one another several times. But when entering the chicane, Lonbois was at the lead and he eventually won the race. Patrick Quintens who had tried to join the fight had to let go after several rounds, he did however finish 3rd.

We thought we had seen it all, but the second round turned out to be even more breathtaking. The same three protagonists chasing each other, claiming the lead one after the other. After several overtakes in the last round, the three musketeers took the chicane together. Le Grelle being a little too optimistic missed out on the braking and left the door wide open for Lonbois, followed by Verleye.

With the juniors, Jean-François Hanlet was the undoubted number 1, in the first as well as in the second round, he even finished before some Inters.

Belgian Supersport 600.

The two rounds of the Belgian Supersport that were held at Francorchamps on Sunday had a similar scenario. Vincent Lonbois (Yamaha) was quickly leading the race and succeeded in turning under 2.30 – which was one of his objectives – hence creating a gap between him and Sébastien Le Grelle. Despite the many efforts, the Honda rider had to let go of his opponent, he did however keep a nice lead on Gian Mertens.

Gian was continuously in 3rd position, although that wasn’t as evident as it seems. In the beginning, Frederiek Mahau, Vick De Cooremeeter and Sébastien Georges chased him for several kilometres, but then they had to let go one by one.

In the second round, Mahau and Arnaoud De Kimpe (son of the former winner of the Samourai Helmet of Kawasaki) tried to do the same, but just as the others before them, they had to let go after a while.

Pro twin

Novoselcuk and Pagani.

The Pro-Twin race treated the visitors to a most delightful spectacle. In the first round Jean-Yves Novoselcuk missed his start but he made a spectacular come back and ended up in the wheel of Bernard Peiron in the last round. In the final sprint he managed to overtake Peiron. In the second round Novoselcuk found Stéphane Pagani on his way. It was also a close call but this time it was Pagani who finished first.

Frédéric Bottoglieri who is used to riding in front didn’t have his best weekend and he nearly missed out on his French title. He only needed one point in Spa to get this title but during the warm-up his machine already bailed out on him. Thanks to the bike of one of his rivals he managed to qualify and in the first round he took the title. And lucky for him that he did, because in the second round he ended up crashing in the Brussels...

3DCup

Two completely different rounds in the 3 D Cup, but only one winner. Saturday Martin Hoogenraad managed to lead his 1098 to the victory on a wet track. On Sunday he did the same but on a dry track, finishing his weekend sunny and bright.

The second place was for Franck Coppens in the first round and for Sveti Alexandrov in the second round, both gentlemen at 10 seconds from the winner.
